About Us

pastor.jpgWe are an Independent Fundamental Baptist church in St. Johnsbury VT. We believe exclusively in the teachings of the King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Bible.

At our church, you'll find a warm, friendly atmosphere and a tradional worship service. We begin each service with congregational singing and prayer before our choir sings and our pastor delivers his sermon. At Pleasant Street Baptist Church, we want you to feel comfortable about learning from the word of God.

Our pastor, Larry McElhenney, began the church in 1990 after the church building had gone unoccupied for several years prior. Pastor McElhenney has been preaching in our church since the beginning and we appreciate what he's done for us. Pastor McElhenney was a pastor in North Carolina but the call of God brought him north to Vermont over 30 years ago.
